Ideas Alternative Action

Humanscape, a monthly magazine, is a vehicle to promote a current of opinion formed by those who have one common concern – the individual – and to focus on ways of bringing about positive changes in the individual and in society. Since November 1993 Humanscape has encouraged ideas, debates and discussion on issues that have often been sidelined by mainstream and commercial media but, nonetheless, are of great concern to society. The magazine also features alternatives, the path-breaking work done by people who are pro-active and pioneers in their fields, the work done by groups that are making a difference. It brings together and encourages an entire range of voices including those of journalists, writers, academics, thinkers, non-governmental organisations and activists.

Past issues of Humanscape have addressed concerns of human rights, women's empowerment, waste management, medical ethics, floods and droughts in India, public policy, globalisation, voluntary organisations, disability communication, the handicrafts sector, forestry among others.
